SPRING 2026 GIRLS YOUTH REC SEASON

Grizzlies offers K-8th grade teams that participates in a Spring community based recreational league.  
​Grizzlies K-8th grade teams will be play in the North East Florida Girls Youth Lacrosse League (NEFGYLL), which is being run by the First Coast Girls Lacrosse High School Coaches Association (FCGLCA).  K-2 (U8) is a shorter season, but the K-2 teams will be participating in NEFGYLL games in the 2025 Spring season (the last 4 Sundays of the league).

WHEN IS SPRING SEASON?
 3rd-8th Grade (U10, U12, & U14) start Jan 24  and run through April 19.
K-2nd grade (U8) will start Feb 18 and run through April 19

FOR WHO?
Girls in grades Kindergarten-8th grade in and around the Bartram Trail HS area.  Grizzlies has been the main feeder for Bartram Trail HS for many years, but also feeds heavily into Beachside HS.  We have players that feed into other high schools as well, such as Tocoi Creek HS.
​Grizzlies participates in the NEFGYLL which is a community based league with the HS coaches involved.  

COACHING STAFF:
Grizzlies is ran by the former Bartram Trail HS Coaching staff from 2011-2023 (3x State Champions), Meghan Jackowiak and Joe Fanning.  We have former and current female experienced/knowledgeable lacrosse players coaching at each level for a quality experience.  Our staff are all paid coaches, including many of our BTHS Varsity players who help coach the teams.  They are amazing role models for our young players.  There are no parent volunteers coaching.  We focus on teaching the fundamentals while having fun.  ​

SPRING FEES​
Spring fees go toward the following:
  • League entry fee and field usage fees (8 Sundays for U10-U14 and the last 4-5 Sundays for U8)
  • Certified Officials (USA lacrosse certified officials for every league game*).  U10-U14 will have minimum of 8 games.  U8 will have minimum of 4 games.
  • Practice field usage fees.  Note each team practice 2x a week (one weekday and Saturday*)
  • PAID experienced coaches at all levels.
  • New dry fit Grizzlies t-shirt for ALL players
  • NEW PLAYERS: Uniform costs (jersey and skirt).  Returning players can replace their jersey and/or skirt for additional cost as well.
  • Practice pinnie option for 3rd-8th grade (additional $25.00 cost): All 3rd-8th graders need to wear a reversible pinnie to Grizzlies lacrosse practices.  We strongly encourage to purchase the Grizzlies practice pinnie if you do not own one.  If a player does not own a Grizzlies practice pinnie, they must wear any reversible light color/dark color reversible pinnie to practice or their Grizzlies reversible game jersey.

U10-U14 COSTS (3RD-8TH GRADE)
**Note U10-U14 has a longer season (they start at end of January and they have 8 games)
  • $325.00  (returning players from last Spring who will use their current uniform, please make sure you still have it and it fits**)​
  • $390.00  (new players who need a uniform- additional $65.00 fee)
  • Returning players have option to replace their jersey and/or skirt ($32.50 each)
  • All players have option to purchase practice pinnie (additional $25.00)​​
U 8 COSTS (K-2ND GRADE)
**Note U8 has a shorter season (they start at end of February and they have 4-5 games)
  • $200.00 (returning players from last Spring who will use their current pinnie, please make sure you still have it**)
  • $225.00 (new players who need a pinnie which will be used for both practices and games)
  • If a returning player needs to replace their pinnie, please chose new player option.​​​​

WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY PLAYER NEED FOR THE SPRING 2026 SEASON?
Women's Lacrosse stick, goggles, cleats and mouth guard.

**NEED TO CHECK OUT EQUIPMENT? We have lacrosse sticks and goggles available for check out for those who request/need. Please email [email protected] to inquire! (Note: All players do need to purchase a their own mouthguard)

TEAM/FIELD FORMATS:
U14: 7th-8th Grade (play 12v12, have a goalie, full checking)
U12: 5th-6th Grade (play 12v12, have a goalie, modified checking)
U10: 3rd-4th Grade (play 8v8 on modified field, have a goalie, no checking)
U8: Kindergarten-2nd Grade (play 5v5 on field, NO goalie, no checking)

*Girls divisions will be broken down by grade level.

PRACTICES:
    Practices for U10-U14 (3rd-8th grade) will start toward the end of January and run through mid April. Teams will practice twice a week.
    Practices for U8 K-2 will start late February and run through mid April. DAYS/TIMES: 
DAYS/TIMES:
  • K-2nd grade (U8): Wednesday evenings  5:30-6:30pm + Saturday mornings 10:30-11:30am
  • 3rd-4th grade (U10): Tuesday evenings 6:00-7:30pm + Saturday mornings 10:30am-12:00pm
  • 5th-6th grade (U12): Wednesday evenings 6:00-7:30pm + Saturday mornings 10:30am-12:00pm
  • 7th/8th grade (U14): Tuesday evenings 7:00-8:30pm  + Saturday mornings 9:00-10:30am
LOCATIONS:
  • Tuesday/Wednesday practices: @ Durbin Wall Ball field (near Patriot Oaks Academy)
  • Saturday practices: @ Switzerland Point MS

GAME DAYS:
Sundays @ Davis Park (Ponte Vedra)
  • ​Dates: February15, Feb 22, March 1, March 8, March 22, March 29, April 12 and April 19
  • Times: Games for 3rd-8th (U10, U12 and U14) will be between 12pm-5pm.
​**Games for K-2 (U8) will only have games the last 4-5 Sundays of the league

REFUND POLICY
No refunds issued after regular registration closes, unless team is canceled due to insufficient numbers, etc., in which we will refund the registration amount. In addition, injuries are a part of all sports at any level and will not be considered as a reason for a refund.

WEATHER POLICY
All events will be conducted rain or shine. However, the decision is made by our local Parks & Recs. If they choose to close a field no matter how light or heavy we think the rain is, we will be forced to cancel practice or games. There is no make up sessions. No refunds are given due to inclement weather. Keep in mind, Parks & Recs can make a field closure decision minutes before an event. Notification will be posted on Team Reach.
